Biography

Hubert Käppel is among the most influential teachers and guitarists of his generation. Born in Bensberg, Germany, he is the only German guitarist ever to win the International Interpretation Competition in Gargano, Italy.
After training at the Cologne College of Music, he completed his classical guitar studies with Konrad Ragossnig at the Music Academy in Basel, Switzerland and with Oscar Ghiglia in Italy. Since completing his studies, Hubert Käppel has established himself as a leading performer and teacher of the guitar, touring extensively as a recitalist, orchestral soloist, and chamber player throughout Europe, Asia, and North and South America.
He has given concerts and master classes at many international music and guitar festivals, as well as served on juries in most of the major guitar competitions. Hubert Käppel has made many recordings, and performed on numerous national and international radio and television broadcasts.
Currently, he directs a guitar program at the Musikhochschule, one of the most successful guitar classes in Europe. Many students from this class have been international competition winners. In 2001, Hubert Käppel and composer George Schmitz created the Koblenz Guitar Academy, a school devoted to nurturing the development of exceptionally talented young guitarists. He has also written a guitar method published by AMA Musikverlag.

Biography

David Dyakov, born February 18, 1994 in Braine-le-Comte, Belgium, is a young russian-bulgarian concert guitarist. He started playing guitar at the age of 8 and gave his first concert with orchestra at the age of 10 performing Giuliani’s Concerto in A major op. 30. Since then he has given more than 150 recitals and more than 30 Concertos with orchestra performing besides Giuliani, concertos by Carulli (E-minor), Vivaldi (D-major) and Rodrigo (Concierto de Aranjuez).
David Dyakov is one of the most outstanding guitarist of the youngest generation. At the age of 9 he received his first award at the International Guitar festival in Kiustendil. Until the age of 13 he had won already 6 International prizes for young artists including the pretigious first prize at the Sinaya Guitar Competition in Romania. In 2009 at the age of 15 he received the 1st prize at the Zwolle International Guitar Competition (Holland). In 2010 several prizes and awards. In 2011 he continued hid most successful career with six 1st prizes in Germany, Italy, Greece, Austria and Corea. Until 2008 David Dyakov studied guitar with Dimitar Doichinov at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia as the youngest student of Bulgaria. In 2009 he moved to Germany to continue his studies with Hubert Kaeppel in his concertclass at the “Koblenz International Guitar Academy”. Besides his regular studies he attended masterclasses with Aniello Desiderio, Konrad Ragossnig, David Russell, Georgi Vassilev and Carlo Marchione, Maxim Vengerov, Gavriel Lipkind. In 2009 he got a scholarship to take part at the Bowdoin Music Festival in Brunswick, USA where he took masterclasses with Ricardo Iznaola. In the same year he was awarded a scholarship to participate at the ‘’Musica Mundi’’ Chamber festival in Belgium. In 2010 he has been awarded by Classic FM Radio, the most prestigious radio station, as “Musician of the Year” , an award which is supposed to be the most outstanding for a musician in Bulgaria. In 2012 he released his CD ‘’Il Diabolico’’  featuring his own transcriptions on famous works from N.Paganini and J.S.Bach. Since 2013 he continues his studies at the Music University in Koln in the class of Prof. Hubert Kaeppel. In the same year he is awarded with the Deutschland Stipendium,a scholarship given for extraordinary achievements in the field of classical music.
Meanwhile he continues his successful competition carrer. Since 2012 he is regulary invited to China as a guest teacher and a concert artist. Since he moved to Germany, David Dyakov has established himself as a leading performer of the guitar, touring extensively as a recitalist, orchestral soloist, and chamber player throughout Italy, Spain, Germany, Croatia, Belgium, Holland, Greece, Slovakia, Czech Republic, South Korea, USA, China, Montenegro, Austria.
